Purdue sophomore Samantha Woods missed the first two games because of a bizarre NCAA-mandated suspension for playing in a closed scrimmage last season -- when she wound up redshirting.
But since her return to the lineup, Woods has been solid, averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds. Both rank second on the team.
Still, it's not good enough for a person whose motivation is to be "the best." Check out the rest of her answers to random questions.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? To cure people.
What was your favorite toy as a kid? Not Barbie dolls. (laughs) Probably the Power Rangers toys. It was either that or like the Transformer ones where if you hit them just right in the chest they'd freeze or something. Those were pretty fun.
Is there a TV show you can't miss? I don't really have one because my schedule doesn't allow me to have one. But I do like watching "The Hills."
Didn't they change that up and bring someone back who used to be on it? Yeah. It's starting to change to the point where I don't want to watch it as much.
Would you be a good reality TV star? Probably not.
Why? I don't know. My favorite shows to watch are the most unrealistic ones, so I don't find myself as unrealistic. So I don't think I'd be very good at it.
Any weird dreams lately? No. I think I've been getting just enough sleep and then right when my dream comes, my alarm goes off.
How much sleep do you get? I hope for six hours.
Wow. Yeah. So my naps definitely don't give me dreams.
How do you function on that much sleep with all you guys have to do? I don't know. Sometimes, I feel like I get my one day a week that I can get my nine hours in. Then it just basically holds me over until the next time.
What's your ideal job? Something that has no direct description, it just changes daily. I don't like sitting for a long time. But I don't want to be walking all the time. Sometimes dressed up, sometimes not. It changes all the time.
What's your motivation in life? To be successful, to be the best. To have a huge family. It's kind of my motivation, too, is to do really well in my job so one day I can be a stay-at-home mom and have like five, six kids. Not all of my own. I want to adopt, too.
What's a trait that defines you? Versatility.
What do you think about dealing with the media? It's fun. I never know what questions to expect.
Does that make it nerve-racking? No, not really. It's kind of fun. I used to get nervous about talking in general, but now I can't seem to shut up. So it works out.
You're on a road trip and stop to get gas. What snacks do you buy? I love candy. Oh, my gosh. But I don't like chocolate. Just anything like really sugary and coated with sugar. So, I like Sour Patch (kids), stuff like that.
What are you going to drink? I get probably a root beer, and if I'm feeling really healthy, I'll get like a Powerade. But I don't really like water that much.
