TinCaps have new skipper

The Fort Wayne TinCaps, your 2009 Midwest League champions, have a new manager.

The San Diego Padres have assigned Jose Flores to Fort Wayne to manage the 'Caps in 2010. He'll be joined by a new pitching coach, Bronswell Patrick, who was in Shot-A Eugene, Ore., last season, and hitting coach Tom Tornicasa, who'll return for his seventh season in Fort Wayne.

Flores comes to Fort Wayne from the Arizona Rookie League, where he managed the last two seasons with a combined record of 61-51. He was the hitting coach for Eugene in 2007. He played in the minors for parts of 13 13 seasons for seven different organizations.

Doug Dascenzo, Fort Wayne's manager for the last three seasons, has been promoted to manage San Antonio in Double A.
