Youngblood will brighten your day

I was out at McMillen Arena yesterday and was really saddened to learn that so many young hockey players haven't seen "Youngblood."

For them, hockey movies began with "The Mighty Ducks."

Sad. Scary. I'm getting old.

Anyway, my gift to you is this extended clip from the second-greatest hockey movie of all time behind, of course, "Slap Shot."

  • As for some other fun stuff, the Komets have a cool promotion coming up: Wednesday's game against the Port Huron Icehawks will be the first "Wild Wednesday Game" of the season. Presented by the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, there will be a booth in the Coliseum lobby with live animals and chances to win prizes.
