In your garden: The Blue Tree Society

Make Fort Wayne the blue tree center of the world!

My sister, who lives in Grand Haven, Mich., started this crazy fad when a tree in her backyard died and she didn’t want to take it out. Out came the spray paint.

A friend liked her idea, so he created his own blue tree. Because they live in a popular tourist area, the local tour bus started making the blue tree a part of the sites to see on the route.

I had to join the club when one of my new trees didn’t make it. It’s been a fun conversation piece in my backyard.
