Lambert

ABC says glam-rocker Adam Lambert will perform Thursday on its daytime talk show “The View.”

The announcement comes two weeks after Lambert’s racy performance on ABC’s “American Music Awards.” That led to Lambert getting axed from “Good Morning America” and, Lambert has complained, two other upcoming ABC shows.

He also has inked a date to appear on NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show” on Dec. 21.

VH1, NBA wives team

A VH1 reality series about the lives of NBA players’ wives and girlfriends is set to debut March 15.

VHI said that “Basketball Wives” will show the upside of the women’s lives – big homes, designer clothes and jewelry – and the drawbacks, including worries about whether their husbands are being faithful on roadtrips.

Shaquille O’Neal’s wife, Shaunie, will be featured and is an executive producer. Others taking part are Eric Williams’ wife, Jennifer, and Mesha O’Neal, married to Jermaine O’Neal.

Star’s daughter OK

A publicist for Alexa Ray Joel says the daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley is better two days after being hospitalized for a possible overdose of pills. Claire Mercuri says the singer-songwriter is with her family and thanks “everyone for their outpouring of love and support.”

Police received a 911 call Saturday saying Joel, 23, had taken several pills. Officials didn’t know whether she had accidentally overdosed or attempted suicide.

Actor helps doctors

Dennis Quaid is helping launch a national program to help prevent medication errors like the one that hurt his newborn twins in 2007.

Quaid announced the National Alert Network for Serious Medication Errors at a conference for pharmacists and health professionals.

The alert system will send e-mails to 35,000 pharmacists, doctors and nurses when a serious error happens in giving medication.
