From the future, three or four years down the road: "Yankees Sign Every Single Player In Baseball; Will Go From Spring Training Directly To The World Series, Where They Will Play Themselves."
Surely this will be what we're reading in, say, 2013, now that the Yankees have A) added stellar Detroit center fielder Curtis Granderson to their already full-to-bursting larder, and B) locked up clutch playoff pitcher Andy Pettitte for another season.
This is marvelous news for those of us who are both fans of at least a semblance of competitive balance, and weary of pinstripes. Well, forget that. The Yankees, already miles and miles ahead of the pack, just added a jetpack to their arsenal. They're that little dot way out in front of everyone else, the one you can hardly see.
And that will be in May.
