Suspect accused of molesting young girl for 4 years

A Fort Wayne man is accused of molesting a girl several times over more than four years starting when she was as young as 6, according to charges filed Tuesday in Allen Superior Court.

Police began investigating Jeremy J. Lahr, 35, of the 9000 block of Greenleaf Drive, in December 2008 after a teacher reported that one of her students said Lahr was touching her “where he shouldn’t,” a probable cause affidavit said.

The girl told investigators that Lahr began molesting her in April 2004 when she was about 6. It continued until December 2008, when she told her teacher, court documents said.

Lahr, who has denied the allegations, is charged with five counts of child molesting, two counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors and a single count of vicarious sexual gratification.

Lahr was booked Tuesday into the Allen County Lockup and later released on $100,000 bond.
