ABC’s George Stephanopoulos is moving to the morning. The network said Stephanopoulos will replace Diane Sawyer as co-host of “Good Morning America” starting Monday. He’ll be paired with Robin Roberts.

The show’s executive producer, Jim Murphy, says Stephanopoulos’ arrival signals the show plans to toughen up by adding more news content. Stephanopoulos has been host of “This Week” on Sundays and will continue as a political correspondent.

ABC will be replacing him as host of “This Week.”

Winfrey’s special will include a tour of holiday decorations and an appearance by Bo, the family’s dog.

Daughter recovers

Pop star Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley say their daughter is recovering from her “dangerous actions” of last weekend, when New York police received an emergency call about Alexa Ray Joel, 23.

In a statement, Joel and Brinkley say their daughter’s actions came “while suffering a devastating heartbreak.” The statement didn’t specify what her actions were.

Joel and Brinkley also say a report published in the New York Post was “false.” It reported she attempted suicide after a fight with her mom during a family vacation.

Gosselin ruling in

A Maryland judge is ruling in the dispute between Jon Gosselin and the TLC network that he must stop making media appearances that are at odds with his contract.

Montgomery County Circuit Judge Michael D. Mason ruled after a one-day hearing.

TLC Chief Operating Officer Edward Sabin testified that Gosselin made unauthorized appearances and endorsements. He mentioned a pool party that Gosselin hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Sabin says photos from the event were at odds with the wholesome image of the show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

Stars work out deal

A judge has ordered Nas to increase his payments to his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kelis, and their infant son, Knight, to $51,101 a month.

The ruling came after two days of testimony about the musicians, both were portrayed as cash-strapped.

Nas owes his manager $700,000 and owes millions to the IRS, according to testimony. Kelis hasn’t filed a tax return in years, which made calculating her income difficult.

Kelis, who gained fame for the song “Milkshake,” has debuted new music on Twitter. Nas said he didn’t expect to release a new album in 2010.

Actor Christian Slater says changes are in store for ABC’s “The Forgotten.” A new cast member, Elisha Cuthbert (“24,” “The Girl Next Door”) is joining the drama.
