Six hospitalized after single-car crash in Noble

A car crash outside of Kendallville Friday night sent six teenagers to the hospital with minor injuries.

Douglas Gordon, 17, of Kendallville, was southbound on Noble County Road 700 East just outside Kendallville city limits about 9:30 p.m. when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway, Noble County Sheriff Gary Leatherman said.

Gordon lost control of the 2000 Ford Taurus and struck a utility pole, causing the car to roll and land on its roof, Leatherman said.

The crash totaled the Taurus. Gordon and three of his passengers, two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were taken to Parkview Noble Hospital. A 16 and 17-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

All six passengers were from Kendallville and they sustained only minor injuries, Leatherman said.
