And Another Thing

More Tiger news

For those of you who like to collect this stuff, here's the funniest bit yet from the ongoing smutfest that is the life of Tiger Woods.

I take that back. The absolute funniest bit yet is this quote from Nike's Phil Knight, announcing that he still stands by his man: " "When his career is over, you'll look back on these indiscretions as a minor blip."

As opposed to what, pray tell? Hurricane Camille, or the eruption of Vesuvius?

Look, one drop of the trou might have been a minor blip. But Tiger's either on the back nine or halfway through the third round now, infidelity-wise. One sponsor (Accenture) has already dumped him. And in less than two weeks, he's gone from one of the most powerful and iconic figures in the sports world to an object of ridicule and chortling for everyone from Leno to struggling standup comics to the kid who sells you your Lotto tickets at the local Stop-N-Rob.

Such a fall from grace is not only precipitous, but historic. Minor blip, indeed.
