Team of the decade?

Sorry, it's still the Pats

A guy could get tarred and feathered for this west of the Ohio line. But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

And I've gotta say this: The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most consistently successful franchises in professional football. They are not, however, the team of the decade.

That distinction still belongs to the New England Patriots.

Yes, I know the Colts now hold the NFL record for consecutive regular-season victories (22). And, yes, I know that yesterday's victory made them the NFL's winningest team in any decade, with 114 wins in the Oughts.

But the Patriots have won 109 in this decade plus three Super Bowls to the Colts' one. So they get the very narrow nod for now.

But if the Colts become the first team since the 1972 Dolphins to go undefeated and win another Super Bowl in February, the Pats slip to No. 2. It says here.
