Left tackle Rodger Saffold has been selected to play in the 85th East-West Shrine Game and defensive end Jammie Kirlew accepted an invitation to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Texas vs. the Nation Challenge.

The East-West Shrine Game is 3 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Saffold is a member of the East squad that will be coached by former Cleveland Browns coach Romeo Crennel. He is the first Hoosier to play in the game since current New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter in 2008.

Kirlew's game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 6 at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas. Kirlew and the Nation squad will be coached by Florida Atlantic coach Howard Schnellenberger.
