An additional charge of robbery has been filed against a Fort Wayne man already accused of setting his ex-girlfriend’s apartment on fire, according to Allen Superior Court records filed Monday.

Lloyd Greene Jr., 27, of the 18000 block of Greentree Court, also faces formal charges of arson and burglary. He was being held in lieu of $45,000 bail.

Fort Wayne fire investigators said on April 20, Greene broke into his ex-girlfriend’s unit at Golfview Apartments, 6500 St. Joe Road, and started a fire in her bedroom. Upset over their recent breakup, Greene came into her apartment, piled clothing on her bed and set the materials on fire, court records said.

Police say Greene took the woman’s Dodge Durango after the fire, leaving the vehicle parked in an alley.

Kendallville victim survives stabbing

A Kendallville man was in fair condition Monday following an early-morning stabbing, according to the Noble County prosecutor.

Police were notified just before 5 a.m. Monday of the stabbing by a 911 call investigators believe was made by a family member of the wounded, Prosecutor Steven Clouse said.

The stabbing took place in an apartment at 669 Dowling St., Kendallville. Jonathan Prater, 24, and Kara Newport, 19, were taken by ambulance to Fort Wayne’s Parkview Hospital. Prater was in fair condition Monday. No information on Newport’s condition was available.

No one else was at the Dowling Street apartment when the stabbing occurred, and Clouse said it was unclear what the relationship between Prater and Newport is.

No charges have been filed and no motive has been released.

Clouse declined to speculate on what transpired before the stabbing.

A DeKalb County man was arrested Monday on accusations he made a child touch his private parts, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Richard Warble, 69, of St. Joe, faces preliminary felony charges of child molesting and being a repeat sexual offender. He was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail at the DeKalb County jail.

Police say Warble took a child’s hand and made the child touch his private parts between 2003 and 2006 while at his home.
