Rollover crash kills woman

A Lower Long Lake resident died Tuesday morning in a rural Noble County rollover crash. Indiana State Police were called to County Road 100 North near County Road 50 West about 7:50 a.m. to find a pickup truck that had rolled over several times and ejected the driver.

The crash killed Kathleen E. Knafel, 60, of Finlandia Way, west of Albion.

State police said she was driving a 2004 Chevrolet 1500 pickup east on County Road 100 North, approaching a hill crest near County Road 50 West, when the truck slid off the south side of the road, went up an embankment and then rolled into a ditch on the north side of the road.

Speed, road conditions and the weather were listed as contributing factors in the crash, state police said.
