Komets win in overtime

David Hukalo’s power-play goal in overtime lifted the Komets to a 3-2 victory over Quad City on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.

Matt Woodard and Colin Chaulk assisted on Hukalo’s game-winner, which came at the 1:17 mark in overtime.

The Mallards scored twice in a 33-second span in the third period to force overtime.

Kevin Bertram’s goal at 16:09 in the first period snapped a 123-minute, 14-second scoring drought for Fort Wayne.

In his first game in six weeks, Komets goalie Nick Boucher had 27 saves. Enforcer Brad MacMillan had 10 penalty minutes in his first game back after serving a 15-game suspension.
