Ligonier man hurt in crash

A Ligonier man was injured Sunday afternoon when he lost control of his minivan on a slush-covered Noble County road and struck a tree, the county sheriff's department said.

Victer M. Busch, 22, was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with probable head and internal injuries, the sheriff's department said in a statement.

It said Busch was driving west on County Road 900 North, also known as Perry Road, just east of the Elkhart County line about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. He apparently lost control, the statement said, slid sideways on the road and through the yard of the home at 2277 Perry Road, striking a large tree.

Busch, who was not wearing a seat belt, was removed from the minivan by fire and EMS workers, the statement said. It said he was taken to Parkview by ambulance because weather conditions prevented helicopter transport.
