Sirk now tops Lakeland's list

Lakeland boys basketball coach Tim Sirk became the all-time winningest coach at the school with his 197th win Tuesday in a 49-48 decision over Westview.

And Sirk's son, Jake, scored 19 points and had five assists in the win over the Warriors.

Sirk broke a tie with Bill Leiter with 196 wins.

Sirk is 197-129 in 15 years at the school, and is 259-176 in 20 years overall of coaching high school basketball.

Lakeland is 6-2 this year and 3-1 in the NECC.
