Coach Al Sims and captain Colin Chaulk retired, and now so has the goaltender who backstopped them to four championships between 2008 and 2012.Because of a lack of ice availability and because management wanted to give the players an extended holiday break, the Komets will play their next game Saturday night without having been on the ice since Tuesday morning.
Despite what you may have read elsewhere, there won't be a morning skate before going to Muskegon, Mich., on Saturday night. There will just be a workout at Spiece Fieldhouse.
