Because the holidays are even jollier with good food (and drinks), here are a few more places that will be open on Christmas Eve:
•All five Casa Ristorante Italiano locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for holiday carry-out orders only – but orders must be placed today. Options are half or full pans of cold lasagna and Casa salad, which feed 10 to 20 people. Salad prices are $24 and $48; lasagna is $44 and $88.
•Salvatori’s, 12244 Mackenzie Drive in New Haven, will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It also will have regular hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 and New Year’s Day.
•Brevin’s Downtown Eatery & Lounge in Churubusco will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Breakfast is available until 11 a.m., and pizza is available after 3 p.m. Brevin’s also will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 1.
New Year’s Eve events

•Celebrate the 25th annual “New Year’s Eve for Wimps” from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Lucky Moose, 622 E. Dupont Road. For $19.95, cruise the buffet of prime rib, Royal Red shrimp, grouper, catfish, tilapia, salmon, pecan chicken, ribs, potatoes, soup, salad bar and dessert. Reservations are recommended; call 490-5765. There will be a free champagne toast at 10 p.m.
•At Moosewood BBQ, enjoy $14.95 specials from 5 to 10 p.m. They are: all-you-can-eat ribs, catfish or tilapia with salad bar, ribs and Royal Red shrimp, or smoked prime rib with salad bar.
•The Rittenhouse restaurant, 218 S. Main St. in Bluffton, will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. with the regular menu and two fixed-price options. The four-course meal includes prime rib and shrimp with soup, salad, a beverage and dessert; it’s $24.95. The five-course dinner features filet and scallops, an appetizer, soup, salad, dessert and a glass of champagne; it’s $44.95. Reservations are encouraged; call 260-824-8112.
New Year’s eats
•The Lucky Moose, 622 E. Dupont Road, will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Jan. 1. Enjoy an omelet station from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and $1 Bloody Marys. Kids 10 and younger can get free pancakes or scrambled eggs with the purchase of an adult meal.
•Billy’s Downtown Zulu, 18399 Lincoln Highway E. in Monroeville, will be open from 1 to 10 p.m. Jan. 1. Enjoy the regular menu and some specials, including a bratwurst sandwich and a brat, sauerkraut and potato dinner. The TV will be tuned to football, of course.
DeBrand Fine Chocolates, 10105 Auburn Park Drive, will give tours of the store from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday through Dec. 31. Admission is $5, which includes a $5 coupon that’s good for a purchase of $10 or more immediately after the tour. For information, call 969-8333.
