Comedy Central won’t be renewing “The Jeff Dunham Show” for a second season.

The show, featuring comedian Jeff Dunham and his repertoire of puppets, drew 5.3 million viewers in its debut, a premiere record for Comedy Central. But most reviews were terrible, and ratings dwindled during the season.

Comedy Central spokesman Steve Albani says the network will continue “to be in business with Jeff in a big way,” including a tour, standup special and DVDs.

More Globes stars

Halle Berry, Colin Farrell and “Lost” star Matthew Fox will be presenters at the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards, airing Jan. 17 on NBC with Ricky Gervais as host.

Berry is a one-time Globe winner and a three-time nominee; Farrell won his first award last year for “In Bruges”; and Fox was nominated for “Lost” in 2006.

The three join Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Mickey Rourke. Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio will present the Cecil B. De Mille Award to Martin Scorsese.

Metal drummer dies

Police say James Owen Sullivan, a drummer and backup vocalist for the band Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead at his home in Southern California.

Lt. John Domingo says Sullivan, 28, who went by the stage name The Rev, appeared to have died of natural causes Monday in Huntington Beach.

The band formed in 1999 and won Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006. The five-man metal-core band was working on its fifth album.

Its self-titled 2007 album reached No. 4 on the Billboard album chart.
