A worker at a grain elevator who died Tuesday in Decatur after he fell 80 feet into a silo has been identified.
Timothy J. Bulmahn, 26, of Bluffton, was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday and an autopsy was conducted Wednesday, according to a written statement from Leslie Cook, Adams County deputy coroner.
The death has been ruled an accident.
Deputies were called about 2 p.m. Tuesday to Peterson Grain, 4815 North 400 West, on a report of a fall. It took paramedics and firefighters about 2 1/2 hours to get to the victim.
Bulmahn was doing routine cleaning and maintenance when he fell into the grain silo, Cook said.
Adams County sheriff’s deputies and investigators from the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident, the statement said.
