Kirlew honored for off-field contributions

Indiana defensive end Jammie Kirlew will be recognized at halftime of the Allstate Sugar Bowl as a member of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, honoring student-athletes for their off-the-field contributions to their communities. The New Year's Day bowl game begins at 8:30 p.m.

"Jammie is one of the most talented young men I have had the privilege to coach," IU coach Bill Lynch said in a statement. "He represents Indiana University in a first-class manner and sets a terrific example both on and off the field. We are very proud he has received this honor."
