Indiana plays its first road game of the season Wednesday at Ohio State. The Buckeyes (10-4, 0-2 Big Ten) have opened Big Ten play with losses at Wisconsin and Michigan. Ohio State is 3-3 since losing leading scorer Evan Turner to a back injury on Dec. 5.
Turner is averaging 18.5 points per game. Jon Diebler and David Lighty have picked up the scoring, averaging 14.1 and 14 points, respectively.
"I think one of the biggest things is just (Turner's) size on the court, he's 6-foot-7 and has about a 7-foot wingspan and from the rebounding to the scoring but probably most importantly the playmaking that he has," Ohio State coach Thad Matta said during the Big Ten teleconference Monday. "We had played with him (against) three top 25 opponents and in those games he was averaging I think 25 points, 13 rebounds and six assists against the upper-echelon of competition.
"That right there, Evan is such a great teammate, he's a guy that guys kind of gravitate to and not having him out there is a little bit different."
