The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter storm watch for parts of northern Indiana, northwest Ohio and southern Michigan.
The weather service said a storm system will move into the region Thursday morning, bringing accumulations of 4 to 6 inches of snow.
It said winds will increase late Thursday, causing blowing and drifting snow on roads.
A winter storm watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that could affect travel.
Counties in the watch area include:
- Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford, Jay and St. Joseph.
- Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
- Michigan – Branch and Hillsdale.
