If you resolved to cook more this year, there are plenty of chances to learn techniques from some of the best chefs in the region.

The Rittenhouse restaurant in Bluffton and Joseph Decuis in Roanoke are already firing up their kitchens for cooking classes.

Enjoy roasted goat at the Rittenhouse, 218 S. Main St., during a class Jan. 25 that will focus on Spanish and Mexican cuisine.

The three-course meal will be prepared by the chef. Participants will get to taste everything and take recipes home.

The class is from 6 to 9 p.m.

Cost is $24.95, which doesn’t include tax or gratuity. Reservations are required; call 260-824-8112.

Meanwhile, Joseph Decuis will have a monthly Saturday class, although the topics haven’t been posted. The first two are Jan. 30 and Feb. 20.

The two-hour classes begin at 1 p.m. in the “Culinarium,” which is in the Emporium at Joseph Decuis, 151 N. Main St.

Cost is $65, which includes hands-on participation and tasting.

Reservations are required; call 672-1715.

The restaurant reopens Jan. 12.

The next wine luncheon will be at noon Jan. 16 and highlights the cuisine of Germany. Reservations are required.

Dash-In changes hours, menus

If you’re a fan of the Dash-In’s lunch menu, rejoice. You can order it for dinner, too.

That’s just one of several new changes.

A new fixed-price dinner menu ($40 for two people) includes salad, entrée, dessert and a bottle of wine (or two draft beers). That menu will change daily.

Also, the Dash-In’s hours have changed. The new hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays.

On Saturdays, it’s open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for brunch and lunch, and from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. for dinner.

The Dash-In is closed Sundays. All diners must be 21 or older.

Specials marking Toscani’s milestone

Toscani Pizzeria, 120 W. Wayne St., will celebrate its fourth anniversary Jan. 16 and 17 with several specials.

In January, enjoy a family dine-in special on Sundays. It includes an extra-large two-topping pizza, four soft drinks and breadsticks for $19.99, plus tax. (This doesn’t include specialty pizzas).

Also, get $4 off any two pasta dinners after 5 p.m. on Sundays (dine-in only).

Tidbits

•Munch a cheese toastie this month at Anastasia’s Cafe, 5723 Coventry Lane. The January special includes a cup of herb tomato soup, pickle and house beverage for $7.99. To get daily soup updates, visit the café’s Facebook page.

•Originally, the new Acme Bar owners, Jeff and Amy Parrish, had hoped to reopen by Thanksgiving. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and it’s not yet known when the bar will open.
