Strange things amiss

The Komets trail the Bloomington PrairieThunder 1-0 after one period at Memorial Coliseum. The Matthew Spiller goal came from 50 feet out and beat Nick Boucher clean; he wasn't screened.

Then things got weird.

During one sequence, Boucher ripped off his helmet, attempting to get a stoppage. (I don't know if he maybe had an equipment problem he needed tended to.) But a whistle didn't come, so Boucher knocked the net off the moorings.

How he didn't get a penalty for delay of game is beyond me.

Later in the period, David Hukalo was injured on a hit by Colw Ruwe. Hukalo lost an edge and was falling to the ice, when Ruwe collided with him. Leaving a trail of blood behind him, Hukalo had to be helped off the ice.
