Elmhurst's Clemons tops 1,000

Elmhurst junior Liza Clemons torched two-time Class 2A state runner-up Oak Hill for 33 points and went over the 1,000-point mark in the fourth quarter.

The Purdue recruit added 11 rebounds and made 15 of 24 from the field and 3 of 3 on three-pointers.

She outdueled fellow Purdue recruit Courtney Moses from Oak Hill, who had 28 points.

The 68-49 win by the Trojans was their first over the Eagles in three tries.
