Super semistate at Coliseum?

Apparently talk of holding a boys basketball super semistate at Memorial Coliseum has come up again.

General manager Randy Brown told the Coliseum board the IHSAA is interested in having the boys semistates at one location next year. Brown is hoping the Coliseum could be the host site.

This talk came up this year, but the Coliseum had a scheduling conflict with the Komets and couldn't commit to the March 20 date.

The last few years, the northern semistate's have been at two locations. This year, it is Lafayette Jeff and Huntington North.

It would be nice to get the super semistate at the Coliseum and get some postseason back in the venerable facility.

It's just too bad it couldn't have happened this year or last year when Bishop Luers and Snider were both playing.

The Coliseum would be a great postseason stage this season for Luers senior Deshaun Thomas and his quest for Damon Bailey's all-time record.

I guess it would be late than never.
