Irish tripped up on road

The road has not been kind to the Notre Dame men's basketball team.

The Irish lost to Rutgers 74-73 Saturday in Piscataway, N.J. It was Notre Dame's second loss in a row after it fell at Villanova on Wednesday.

The Irish (15-7, 4-5) are 2-5 on the road this season. Couple that with giving Rutgers (10-11, 1-8) its first conference win of the season and things do not look good for Notre Dame's chances of reaching the NCAA tournament.

Luke Harangody had 19 points, and Ben Hansbrough scored 18. Tim Abromaitis had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Tyrone Nash scored 11.
