The Notre Dame women's basketball team survived a scare at Syracuse.
Ashley Barlow hit a three-pointer with 34.2 seconds to play, and the No. 3 Irish deflected an inbounds pass with less than a second to go to hang on for a 74-73 victory over the Orange.
Skylar Diggins matched her season high with 21 points to lead Notre Dame (19-1, 6-1 Big East). Barlow had a season-high 19 points and Brittany Mallory 11.
The Irish were outrebounded 49-34 and shot 25 percent in the second half (7 of 28).
