Rokita seeks Buyer’s House seat

WASHINGTON – Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita will run for the Republican nomination for Congress for the district that stretches through central Indiana from White County to Lawrence County.

Rep. Steve Buyer, R-4th, announced last week he will not run for re-election, setting up a likely fight within the Republican Party. The district is considered reliably Republican.

Rokita, a Munster native, has been secretary of state since 2003.
