A Corunna woman was pinned in her car Tuesday after it was in a head-on crash on Indiana 327.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said Jacqueline P. Parks, 49, was going south on Indiana 327 north of County Road 6 shortly before 6:30 a.m. when a northbound car lost control on the snow-covered road and crossed into her lane.
After the collision, her 2006 Chevy Equinox came to rest in a ditch, where she was pinned inside and had to be extricated, according to a written statement from the sheriff’s department. It said she had a broken arm and was taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the other car, Abel M. Sanchez, 28, of Bridgeport, Wash., was not injured. He was charged with driving left of center, no operator’s license when required, speed too fast for weather conditions and operating a vehicle without proof of financial responsibility, the sheriff’s department said. He was driving a Chevy Impala.
