1,000-point teammates?

Elmhurst honored junior Liza Clemons on Friday for scoring her 1,000th career point a couple of weeks back against Oak Hill. The team had T-shirts with her name on it, and they ate cake afterward.

She may soon have company on the team in the 1,000-point club.

Fellow junior Lacia Gorman is only 67 points away from the milestone heading into the postseason.

The defending Class 3A state champion Trojans don't play again until Friday in the second round of the Wayne Sectional.

They could meet up against No. 2 Norwell, and there is no guarantee Gorman will get the milestone this season. Averaging 15.6 points, Gorman would need possibly four games to hit 1,000 this year.
