Rookie mistake

So it's halftime now, and the Colts lead the Saints 10-6.

And now we discover why a team that has played in one of these Roman Numeral games has an advantage over a team that doesn't.

Case in point, of course, is the huge rookie mistake New Orleans coach Sean Payton just made, gambling on fourth down at the Colts 2. Tim Jennings and Clint Session stuffed the running play, the ball went over -- and instead of kicking the gimme field goal and going in just a point down, the Saints are instead down four.

Otherwise, much better quarter for the Saints. Looks like this is going to be the game everybody thought it would be -- unless, of course, Manning and the Colts make one of those famous halftime adjustments for which they're so notorious.
