No. 23 Butler runs win streak to 12

– Willie Veasley had a career-high 19 points, leading No. 23 Butler past Wright State 74-62 Saturday night for its 12th straight win.

Matt Howard finished with 12 points and Gordon Hayward scored 11 for the Bulldogs (20-4, 13-0 Horizon League).

AKRON 75, BALL STATE 70, OT: Brett McKnight drilled a three-pointer with 1:14 left in overtime in Muncie as the Zips (17-7, 7-3 Mid-American), beat Ball State for the sixth straight time.

Jarrod Jones scored 16 points to pace the Cardinals (12-10, 6-4), whose four-game winning streak ended.

VALPARAISO 74, DETROIT 70: Brandon Wood scored 18 points, and the host Crusaders weathered an 18-0 second-half run by Detroit to win.

Michael Rogers added 13 points for Valparaiso (12-13, 7-6 Horizon League).

SAINT FRANCIS 96, GOSHEN 81: The Cougars (21-5, 9-3 MCC) shot 67 percent and had 58 points in the second half to win on the road. Joey Kosiarek made 8 of 11 shots and had 21 points for Saint Francis.

INDIANA TECH 58, CONCORDIA 57: Junior Ashton Foster’s tip-in as time expired lifted the Warriors in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Senior Shaun Cabrera led Indiana Tech with 15 points. Foster had 11.

BETHEL 79, HUNTINGTON 62: Ryne Lightfoot had 25 points, and Bethel shot 52 percent to win at home. Tyle Shively’s 18 points led Huntington (15-11).

GRACE 61, TAYLOR 56: David Swanson had 13 points and 11 rebounds for host Grace.

MANCHESTER 65, ROSE-HULMAN 54: Tyler Henn made 7 of 11 shots and scored 18 points for visiting Manchester (13-8, 7-5 HCAC).

Women

BOWLING GREEN 80, BALL STATE 76: Lauren Prochaska’s 26 points led three Falcons in double figures on the road.

Emily Taggert made 11 of 15 shots, scored 28 points, had nine rebounds and three assists for Ball State (9-14, 3-7 MAC).

SAINT FRANCIS 101, GOSHEN 80: The host Cougars used a 25-9 run in the final 10 minutes to win their seventh in a row.

Stacia Shepherd and Kayla Mullins scored 16 points apiece for Saint Francis (16-9, 10-2 MCC). Julie Seiss and Bessie Jenkins added 15.

HUNTINGTON 88, BETHEL 62: The Foresters (17-7) made nine three-pointers in their home victory.

Sarah Miller, Jenna Donaldson and Lauren Meese had three three-pointers apiece. Miller’s 19 points led the team.

GRACE 62, TAYLOR 58: Grace used a plus-13 rebounding margin to counter 24 turnovers and win on the road.
