Legacy affected?

MIAMI -- Colts coach Jim Caldwell, for one, doesn't think Peyton Manning's legacy will be affected by that late interception into the hands of Tracy Porter, which finalized the scoring in the Saints' 31-17 victory over the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

"I don't think it will have any bearing on his legacy," Caldwell said. "He's a great player and it never comes down to just one single play in the game. There were a lot of different things that happened in that game that could have put us in a different position. He's still a great player, an outstanding performer, a great competitor and that doesn't diminish it at all."

Right or wrong, I don't think Caldwell's correct. It shouldn't all be on Manning -- not by a long shot -- but people love to talk about him. Until he wins another huge game, in the playoffs, with some hail-mary, pull-one-out-of-his-rear-end play, people will focus on this.
