Attorney: Wife wants case tossed

Charlie Sheen and his wife were reunited Monday after a judge modified a restraining order after a dispute Christmas Day in which the TV actor allegedly pinned his spouse on a bed with a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

Brooke Mueller Sheen’s attorney, Yale Galanter, said they hugged and kissed in the Pitkin County (Colo.) Courthouse after the hearing. Galanter has asked prosecutors to drop the case.

Sheen is due back in court March 15.

Jolie visits victims

Angelina Jolie met Monday with dozens of survivors of the Haiti earthquake, said Dario Manon, spokesman for the Dario Contrera Hospital in nearby Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Manon says the actress, 34, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N., toured the hospital Monday.

… and sues tabloid

Brad Pitt, 46, and Angelina Jolie have begun legal action against News of The World, Britain’s top-selling newspaper, lawyer Keith Schillings said.

He said the tabloid made “false and intrusive allegations” when it said Jan. 24 that the couple would separate and made arrangements for their six kids’ custody.
