Knight to address graduates at Trine

Former Indiana University men’s basketball coach Bob Knight will be the commencement speaker for Trine University in Angola on May 8.

Knight coached the Hoosiers for more than 29 years – leading them to three championships – before being fired in 2000. The Hall of Famer’s 902 victories are the most by a coach in NCAA Division I.

“Coach Knight’s respect for learning and his ability to instill character in his players make him an inspiring speaker for Trine University’s 125th commencement,” Trine President Earl D. Brooks II said.

Knight will be presented with an honorary doctor of public service degree during the ceremony, to be conducted in Hershey Hall, in recognition of his lifelong commitment to improving the lives of young people.
