Thoughts on AAHL Game

The Battle Creek Revolution defeated the Evansville Icemen 6-3 on Friday night at Memorial Coliseum, in front of about 1,300 fans.

After seeing the AAHL product, consider yourself lucky the Komets are at least in the IHL. This game was slow, not unlike what I see Sunday nights at McMillen Arena, except with more hitting.

The players just don't have the shooting skills or the ability to string together the tic-tac-toe passing play. The bigger deficiencies were on defense; the coverage wasn't there and the goaltending was brutal.

What was good? The AAHL players showed a lot of tenacity around the nets, and even the Komets could learn something from that.
