Speaking of Daytona ... Danica Patrick proved she's just one of the boys Saturday in the Nationwide race, her first as a fledgling NASCAR driver.
She got caught up in the Big One.
Patrick couldn't avoid the big wreck on lap 67, same as everyone else sooner or later at Big D, and hit the garage after working her way from 35th back to 21st. She was, she said, just starting to get comfortable when, oops, suddenly there was smoke, flying metal, the whole standard Daytona menu.
The verdict?
I still think this kind of racing fits her. And I like her attitude. After the crash, she said her biggest regret was not being able to finish the race, because right now she needs the laps.
Good answer.
