Two Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were hospitalized after their cruiser flipped several times near West Unity, Ohio, early Sunday.
Trooper Jason Urbina, 25, of Holland, Ohio, was driving north on U.S. 127 with Trooper Matthew Uran, 32, of Bryan, in the passenger seat about 12:30 a.m., police said.
Urbina was attempting to stop a car for speeding about three miles south of West Unity in Williams County, Ohio, when he lost control of the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria cruiser.
The car drove off the right side of the road and rolled several times, coming to rest on its wheels in a field.
An air ambulance flew Uran to the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was later taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo where he was listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Urbina was taken to Bryan Community Hospital where he was treated and released later Sunday.
Both troopers work at the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Defiance post. Both were wearing seat belts when the cruiser crashed, police said.
