Bowling tourney aids HOPE for Animals

The Fort Wayne Street Kids Softball team has organized a charity bowling tournament to benefit HOPE for Animals.

The tournament is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday at Crazy Pinz Entertainment center on Lima Road.

Fort Wayne Street Kids is part of an organization called Street Kids Softball out of South Bend, formed to give competitive softball players a purpose off the field. The team is partnering with the Humane Organization for the Prevention of Euthanasia to raise money to tackle this area's pet overpopulation problem, according to a written statement from Street Kids.

Teams of four will compete in a nine-pin, no tap tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.
