The Komets made a goaltender change after the first period -- Tim Haun replaced Nick Boucher -- and I don't yet know why. It could have been that coach Al Sims wanted to shake things up, as his Komets were trailing 2-0, or maybe Boucher aggravated his hand injury.
Regardless, the Komets were an improved team in the second period. They netted a power-play goal, as Justin Chwedoruk redirected a Frankie DeAngelis shot at 17:05 of the second period.
Earlier, I think something that got the Komets fired up was Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock's fight with Jason Kostadine with 56 seconds remaining in the first period.
