Junior Nic Moore and the Warsaw boys basketball both had pretty good timing Friday against Bishop Luers.
The Tigers got a big 60-50 win over the two-time defending Class 2A state champion Knights and Moore had 25 points for a second straight game against Luers.
This while officials were watching Warsaw for a possible spot in next year's Hall of Fame Classic in New Castle. The Tigers are reportedly one of eight teams in the running for the four spots in the tournament.
And Moore did it with IPFW men's basketball coach Dane Fife looking on. The Mastodons are said to be one of Moore's suitors. The Tigers' point guard said he was going to wait until after the AAU season to make a college choice.
"I thought (Moore) played really explosive tonight," Bishop Luers coach James Blackmon said.
