The Komets won their second straight road game in a 4-1 decision over the Quad City Mallards in front of 3,304 fans Wednesday.
Fort Wayne (30-16-2) got two first-period goals from Leo Thomas and Sean OConnor to open up a 2-1 advantage.
After a scoreless second, Matt Syroczynski notched two goals for the final margin. P.C. Drouin had two assists, while OConnor, Guy Dupuis and Konstantin Shafranov also picked up helpers.
Goalie Nick Boucher had 26 saves on 27 shots.
The Komets remain in third place with 65 points, behind first-place Muskegon (79) and Port Huron (69).
Quad City (18-23-6) misfired on all nine of its power-play opportunities, while the Komets were 1 for 3.
The Mallards got their goal from Chris Lipsett in the first period.
Fort Wayne won at Dayton on Saturday.
Fort Wayne, which improved to 15-11-1 away from Memorial Coliseum, continues its road trip by heading back to Dayton on Friday before playing host to Flint on Saturday.
