The frustration finally boiled over for Indiana coach Tom Crean, who got ejected in Indiana's 78-46 loss to Wisconsin on Thursday.
The Hoosiers lost their ninth in a row. And once again, it wasn't pretty.
Derek Elston was the only Hoosier to reach double figures in scoring, coming off the bench for 12 points. IU shot 35.3 percent from the floor. Wisconsin shot 54.7 percent.
Crean had to be restrained by sophomore guard Verdell Jones III after getting the second technical foul called by official Tom O'Neill with 9:53 remaining. Jim Burr handed Crean the first technical foul at the 10:22 mark. Assistant coach Tim Buckley escorted him off the court to a standing ovation. The student section later chanted "Tom Crean."
"I'm just coaching. I will never, ever apologize for my passion for believing what I think is right," Crean said. "The passion is the overriding emotion. It's not anything else. I love seeing teams play hard, compete and just get after it. That's exactly how I'm going to coach here and I will never back off from that."
