  • Talked to new K's goalie Nagle
I spoke to Komets goaltender Pat Nagle. Super nice guy. And I don't just say that because we're both from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
  • K's invading AHL camps
When American Hockey League training camps opened today, there were lots of players under contract to play for the Komets this season who took part.
  • Bachman in Prospects Game
The USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, in which Karch Bachman of Walcottville, is playing will be on NHL a network at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Chwedoruk breaks out

We're one period deep here between the Komets and Flint -- in front of a sellout crowd of 10,480, no less -- and Justin Chwedoruk is the man of the hour so far.

Chwedoruk, who had just seven goals in 41 games coming in tonight, scored twice to give the Komets a 2-1 lead. He got the first on a top-shelf backhand at 9:34, and got the second shorthanded at 19:27, breaking in alone, deking Flint goalie Sergei Zvyagin, and tucking it in past his glove.

(A sidenote: Zvyagin, who just joined the Generals, is 39 years old, and looked it on occasion. He's giving up a lot of juicy rebounds, and the Komets haven't yet cashed any. If they had, it might be 4-1 or 5-1 right now).
