Notre Dame may have played its last game in Purcell Pavilion this season.
The Irish defeated Connecticut 58-50 Wednesday.
Notre Dame won its third Big East game in a row, and a team that looked destined for the NIT after star forward Luke Harangody was injured could have solidified an NCAA tournament berth.
Notre Dame (20-10, 9-8 Big East) closes the regular season with a road game against Marquette before heading to New York for the Big East tournament March 9-13.
Irish senior guard Tory Jackson led the way with 22 points, and Carleton Scott – who has filled in for Harangody in the starting lineup – had 12 points.
Jackson and Harangody addressed the crowd after the game, thanking them for their support and talking about how the team had its ups and downs but is rolling now.
The crowd chanted NIT towards UConn (17-13, 7-10) as it left the court.
