3 Irish women receive Big East honors

Notre Dame guard Lindsay Schrader was named to the All-Big East first team, and guard Ashley Barlow and Skylar Diggins received second-team honors.

Schrader led the Irish in rebounding, averaging 6.9 per game, and was the third leading scorer, averaging 11.2 points.

Diggins lead the team in scoring averaging 13.5 points, and Barlow was second, averaging 11.4 points. Diggins was also named to the All-Freshmen team.

The awards for player of the year, freshman of the year, scholar-athlete of the year and coach of the year will be announced at a 5 p.m. news conference Friday.

The Big East women's tournament begins Friday in Hartford, Conn.
