Bank robber back behind bars again

Homeless man served time for similar ’07 heist

Rozier

Fort Wayne police believe a convicted robber struck again Monday when he used a note to rob a South Calhoun Street bank.

Officers arrested Dymetro Rozier, 32, late Tuesday after they received tips from the public when The Journal Gazette and other local media outlets published and broadcast surveillance images from the robbery, police said.

Detectives initially took Rozier into custody for questioning and later arrested him on a charge of robbery.

He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Rozier, who is homeless, walked into the National City Bank branch at 3805 S. Calhoun St. and stood in line until he got to a teller. He then handed over a note demanding cash, according to police.

Rozier served 10 months in prison in 2008 after he was convicted of a similar bank robbery.

Police said he used a note to rob the Wells Fargo branch at 3902 S. Clinton St. in November 2007. When police questioned him about that robbery, he admitted to it and said he had spent the money on drugs.
